Flexmarkers... How I love Thee!!

You know how they say, "Never say never!", well I should probably have listened.

When I first started scrappin' I was in it for the scrapbook pages because "card-making wasn't my thing"... LOL!
Then it was, "Bigshot machine, who needs a Bigshot machine?"... second-time LOL!
And lately I was like, "Whoa! alcohol-based markers are way out of my league, I will NEVER get into those!" :)
So what changed my mind? Simple laziness! I had just inked a few stamps and was basically too lazy to take out my prismacolors and blending tools... So, long story short, Youtube introduced me to Flexmarkers and Letraset just happend to have a 40% (now 50%) sale... Briefly, here I am waiting for my second order to arrive this week to feed my new addiction :)

Here is my first Flexmarker image (Mo manning's Bunny with Gift):

you may notice the 4 12-marker sets in the background...

A little closer:

Obviously, I need to be more careful with the bleeding to make sure I don't pass over the lines as much, but I am just so proud of my first shading experience :) Isn't he just lovely?

The moral of this story? NEVER SAY NEVER!!!! Lol!

Thanks for visiting and encouraging my madness (which just keeps growing!),

Unworthy Blogger...

So I admit it, 2012 was a real blog Fail! I have no excuses, other than not using my camera much and not organizing the only few pictures I took until December :) So I'll try to make it up to my few followers by posting at least once a month this year. The important word is "try"! lol!

So let's start with a few Christmas cards... This year I had a very hard time getting my mojo started so I "scrap-pinterest-lifted" most of my christmas cards, like this one for instance:

My only personal touch was the nose :)

There was also this one, which was originally created by Jen Nelson at The Tiny Blue Butterfly which is a great space to get inspired! The original was monochromatic, I only added a little color to it...

And then, there was this one:

If I don't mention the names of the original creators, it's simply because I can't find them, but the credit is all their's ... and be assured, these cards were for the sole purpose of making my family and friends happy :)

Fortunately, at some point, I finally had a little fun of my own and created this baby:

I used a great technique (which I also found on Pinterest) to add the glitter to my stamped snowflakes. It was quite easy, I covered the whole image in Versamark and then with heat emboss powder from SU... added the glitter, re-heated a little and Voilà!

Since then, I've been scrappin' like crazy! But I won't show all today, I'm saving the rest for later :)

Thanx again for encouraging my madness; it keeps me sane :)

WOYWW? #150

What's more fun than participating in Julia's WOYWW? Getting to share my newly updated workspace of course!!

After the sad death of our laptop, my Man and I purchased this absolutely extraordinary 22-inch screen computer (that's what happens when you work on a tiny 6-inch notebook for too long...lol) but when we brought it home, we were a little surprised to see how small my desk seemed to be underneath all that screen :) So off to Ikea we went! (I have to say that Ikea is a 2.5-hour drive from our house...)

HIHIHI!!! After finding TOO many options, we finally chose to go with the 3-foot table which is where I put my printer and Big Shot. We also got a few knick-knacks like the little white, metal shelf that I put over my candy jars on the top shelf. As well as this great 3-drawer, basket-type storage unit which fits perfectly underneath the new table:

Can you believe it was only 14.99$ ????  ...I should have gotten 2.... lol! I finally have a sweet place to hide my ribbon spools and all my stamps.

But the GREATEST THING EVER!! Was the shoe storage unit that my wonderful Man found for me!!!

The size is absolutely PERFECT to store all my paper, my magazines, and more! It's simply BRILLIANT!!!  Thanks Babe! A little storage is a ll a girl needs to be overly hyper for at least a month :)

And finally, something that just made my heart smile a little while back...

(sorry, Blogger won't download the right orientation...)

Sometimes life has the most subtle ways of sending you love :)

If you're at all curious about WOYWW? just give Julia a visit at: The Stamping Ground.

So thanx again for encouraging my madness!!!

Simply Unworthy...

Okay, I must admit, I am such an unworthy Blogger! I post.... sometimes.... I comment..... rarely..... I storytell..... never..... AND I don't even notice when I have new followers.... So totally UNWORTHY!!  And yet, I have 2 new followers on my long list of 7... :P  thanx to Prisca G. and Thecrazycrafter for joining me in my paper frenzy :) I make no promises but I will tell you one thing..... nah! still not much interesting to say! LOL! So take a peek at whatever pleases you and leave a happy face once in a while, that'll definitely make me feel even cheaper... hihihi!

Enough with the blabla`s... Here's a little page duo I made this month.

The pictures were printed on regular white printer paper which makes for a horrible quality but 10 and a half years ago, we thought it was pretty cool!! I would have them re-printed but unfortunately, they're the only existing copies... My baby girl was only a few hours old on those!!!

Isn't she adorable?? the pink flower-print paper is from forever in Time and I used my Splotchy stamps from The greeting farm.

Completely exhausted but so proud!!

I made all the flowers myself using a heart punch and a little ink, added a few pearls and Voilà! gotta love paper hydrangeas.... hygrangeas.... hmmmm spelling-block :)

Once again, thanx a million for visiting!

A Little Something for the Birthday Girl!

Here's a little something I crafted for a sweet 5 year old I know :)

Stamp: Pheobe by Ketto
I used paper-piecing for the dress, the flower and the hearts (which I also mounted on chipboard shapes). Also used a whole lot of stickles on her wings and a little on the borders.

On the inside, I added a little dimension with some 3-d tape. I used a little more stickles around the heart which you can't really see :(

So basically, a simple and sweet card with a whole lot of girly in it :)

Thanx for taking a peek :)

Love your comments!

A few more Holiday wishes...

Happy New Year 2012 !!

Health and happiness: be thankful when you are blessed to have them, have faith and hope when they somehow slip away for a while, but most of all, never take them for granted... Have a great 2012 everyone!!!

So a few more cards for the season:

a few stockings from Stampin Up... I scraplifted this model from a friend who came over to make cards with me :) thanx Kathleen!!

Another card made with Stampin Up's Blitzen... LOVE this stamp :)

This is Snow Day by Mo Manning. I was totally inspired by Jak Heath's card: Winter Fairy . Had to try out the white embossing technique which is soooo beautiful :) Thanx Jak!!

All the stamps on this card are from the same set Folies de flocons by Stampin Up. I kinda went balistics on the glitter for this card but it actually didn't turn out so bad :) Besides, can there really be too much glitter on a Christmas card??? lol!

And finally, more of Mo's Snow Day, which is just too cute to live without :) A little embossing here and there and still a whole lot of stickles and glitter :)

Hope you all have had as much fun as me making all sorts of crafty goodness during this Holiday Season!!!

Thanx for encouraging my growing madness (which may be contagious, I warn you!!!)...

hugs,

A Little Christmas fun

Not much to say except for: I work too much, I don't scrap enough, and I LOVE making Christmas cards :) Here are a few of my Holiday creations... Starting with one of my favs (though I have no merit cause we made this one at our scrap-club meetings... the idea was from my Stampin Up rep: Stephanie )

This second one is sweet and simple. The stamp is Dasher from Stampin Up and I stamped him with a little champagne mist all-purpose ink from Tsukineko.

My snowman comes from Meljen's Designs`freebies and the papers are from Echo Park, Winter Park collection.

...and a little more Dasher...

Gotta love glimmer and shine for the Holiday season :)

I'll have more to share soon since I made a few more today, just  need to wait for tomorrow's daylight to take pics :)

Take care everyone and Ihope you are all having a WONDERFUL time getting into the Holiday spirit!!

Thanx a million for visiting!
